The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certification is an international standard that specifies the requirements for certification of recycled fibres. GRS aims to increase the use of recycled materials while simultaneously taking care of the environment, social conditions, or controlling the chemicals used that are safe for humans and the environment.

In order for recycled fabric to be certified for quality, GRS requirements must be followed at every stage of sourcing and processing the raw materials, starting as early as the recycling stage, then going through processing and finally - trade.
